BOSTON, December 16, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Risk strategies, a national leader in specialty insurance brokerage and risk management, today announced Steve Bryant joined as Managing Director, Higher Education Risk Management Leader. In this role, Bryant will work to develop and improve the higher education team and risk management services. He will work with regional and practice leaders to deliver industry-leading risk management, risk financing and insurance products to higher education clients.

Bryant began his career in the insurance industry in 1981 with Swamp United States. He has held enterprise risk management and consulting positions with several industries. In 2002, Bryant joined the Texas Tech University System where he served for the past 19 years as general manager for the Office of Risk Managementwhere he coordinated and administered the university’s insurance and risk management program. Bryant has been a major contributor to student organization risk management, contingency planning, business continuity planning, enterprise risk management, and automotive program implementation self-funded.

Bryant earned his CRM and ARM designations and was a faculty member of the Certified School Risk Manager program for the National Alliance. He was proud to serve National Alliance for Risk Management Principles Curriculum Advisory Committee. Bryant has also taught risk management and insurance principles in the College of Business at Texas University of Technology. He served on the University Risk Management and Board of Directors of the Insurance Association from 2006 to 2011 and chaired the design, implementation and administration of a key strategic element for the University Risk Management Insurance Association (URMIA), in addition to serving on several committees of the organization. Bryant is a past president of URMIA and in 2014 was named Distinguished Risk Manager.
