Integrated risk management software provider Riskonnect announces that it has acquired Sword GRC, a UK-based software company specializing in project and enterprise risk management products, from global technology company Sword Group.

The acquisition of Sword’s governance, risk and compliance business advances Atlanta, Georgia-based Riskonnect’s integrated approach to integrating project risk into its platform.

The acquisition also allows Riskonnect to enter new verticals and geographies. Sword GRC specializes in project and enterprise risk management for the aerospace and defense, energy, financial services and government sectors. The company serves over 300 customers worldwide and has over 150 employees in the US, UK and Asia Pacific. Sword GRC has offices in the UK, USA, Singapore and Australia.

Why some organizations manage coronavirus risk better than others

Jim Wetekamp, CEO of Riskonnect, called Sword GRC’s Active Risk Manager program a “natural complement” and one that will integrate “seamlessly” with Riskconnect’s offerings.

Riskonnect acquired ICIX last October. ICIX is a California-based value chain governance firm that helps companies manage and verify environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance. ICIX’s software provides risk management, audit and compliance tools for procurement and supply chain management, safety and quality compliance, diversity and inclusion, business partner onboarding, information exchange and performance management.

In 2018, Riskonnect acquired Marsh ClearSight, a risk, security and claims business unit of insurance broker Marsh.
